Default Forms and interactive Elements in WD ?

Are there any ideas how to produce buttons / forms / textareas / drop down html fields in WD ?

    with stylesheets connected to it?

that would be really great ...

and a possibility to "export" the CSS to a CSS File ? is there a way to do this?

thx for answers before buy ;-)

    greetings michael

There are no visual tools to create forms (buttons, text fields, dropdown fields e.t.c.). But, if you can create HTML code for your form, you can easily insert it into your WD document.

Question Re: Forms and interactive Elements in WD ?

And for example a script like Lightbox 2.04 ? Or SimpleViewer ? Can they be integrated ?

Lightbox is not a snippet. It can be embedded but there's no way to set "rel='lightbox'" property for objects that are supposed to use it. Unless you insert all these objects manually too.
However, WD has a built in image preview pop up capability similar to Lightbox.
Generaly speaking, you can embed any raw html code, including scripts, stylesheets e.t.c. within WD document.

    hmmm

that seems not that there's a lot missing.
because nearly every website (and a lot of PDF files) need fields and sumit buttons / radio boxes etc to operate normally..

would be a lot of additional coding - and not straight forward coding.
we tried to work out a website with xara ... perfect in the interface but no way to produce good separation of css and html.

there may be less functionality in design - a better way. or some different modes ...

design a website as a "portal" website - with a lot of stuff coming from backend databases and RoR integration or PHP or something else. and the possibility to make shiny website presentations ....

my personal thoughts about the new product:

add forms and clear separation (TAG holding) for text ... means good perfect visual design with the ability to separate layout from real content completly

    just my 2 cents....

Yes, but, unfortunately, if I understand you correctly, clearing separation for text shall make it not visual, or precisely speaking, not WYSIWYG anymore.

    Hi John,

isn't it possible to create two different export modes:
    1. WYSIWYG (with the acquiescence of tons of <div> tags) and
    2. optimized mode (with flexible floated layouts)

    Hello Remi.
There is no floating objects concept in Xara so it is not possible to create flexible floated layouts as you suggest.

Yes, I see what you mean. There is much more time and internal changes necessary to develop adequate tools for handling flexible floated layouts.
