    Welcome to the forum, wyocatman.

It would help if you provided a little more info, such as...

    What's in the file?

What were you doing just before you tried to save?

What operating system are you using?

Have you successfully saved other Xtreme files?

Is there anything else you can tell us about the problem that might help people figure it out?

    This is the error message:

    http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...atman/help.jpg

This is the image exported as a PNG, which it successfully exported and saved:

    http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...n/hsecover.png

but it will not save this as a xara image...which i need to do so that i can later open and edit it. My OS is win XP pro sp2...i just installed xara x pro 4..and the latest patches. The only thing I can think of is that the earth image in the center is a gif file....but i never had a problem in the past using them as a stationary image. The rest of the image is from scratch so i cant c a problem there. I installed xxp4 from the disc..registered it hmmm what else...cant think of anything...ty in advance for your support.

ps this is the fisrt time using xxp4 on this computer so i have not saved anything prior to this.

    Have you tried...

    1. Create a new Xara document (File -> New)
    2. Draw anything (Say a square)
    3. Save the file

    If that works...

    4. Select all in your original file (Ctrl + A)
    5. Copy (Ctrl + C)
    6. Paste into the new document (Ctrl + V)
    7. Save the file

    If that doesn't work...

Try moving the elements of the image one by one to the new file, until you find the one that is causing the problem.

    Hope this helps.

Hey, we've all nubbed at one time or another, and usually multiple times. Join the club.

Glad you got it worked out.

It is probably a bit late now but the extra space that seems to be exported to the left and below your graphic implies that there is a bad object in the file and the program thinks it is at the bottom left of the pasteboard area. If this object was included when you copied it to a new drawing then it might cause further problems in the future. If this is the case (if you do a select all do the selection handles seem to include something way off to the bottom left or do they fit tightly around the drawing) then you should drag select around all the proper objects in the drawing and copy them into a new document again.
