Well here is my Covered Bridge. I limit myself to on week to work on the model. I might try and add some trees later though.

WOW!!! Looks great Randy. Love the modeling and the textures. Lighting is right on the mark. I do miss the trees and maybe a little bank on the waters edges along the upper bank. Super job!!!

Great scene Randy, Nicely detailed. On a project like this, I would put some big support beams under the bridge.

Yes, really nice how this one turned out. I agree with Mike, the bridge needs support.
BTW, how did you do the grass? Are they bitmaps with alpha transparency or modelled?

I used a plugin called Hair Dept. which is pretty good for grass.

    Looking Good Randy!

Regarding beams: I can see where the beam advocates are coming from but I think they might be wrong. It may be that the bridge sides behave as big trusses than span without secondary support. The floor joists would span between the two sidewalls as would the roof framing that braces the sidewalls from buckling. The finished construction is in effect a tube --- If you cut big holes in the sidewalls, or took off the roof framing, it might collapse. At that point the lawyers would start looking for the engineer.

    Regards, Ross
