The workbooks are always great. Here is my take on the inner glow.

    Gary, great tuts, as usual!
I am currently doing the seamless tiling pattern. You stated:
If you are curious (curious is good), and wonder why two of the shapes are in the center and three are on the left, here’s part of the answer. When Xtreme creates a blend of a closed shape such as a circle, the inside and outside paths go one direction while the in between paths go in the opposite direction. Why the in between shapes are on the left (or maybe right) instead at the bottom of the circle is anybody’s guess. It’s a programmer thing.
However, all of my duplicates are dead center, from top to bottom. I notice that this is where they are all lined up nicely, whereas in yours the left side is lined up nicely after the outer ring.

Loved the tut! Made nothing artistic at all, but certainly had fun learning the techniques.

    Gary nice

regarding the custom brush and the 'change of outline color mystery'

I think that's because the hue and/or saturation sliders were active - and then what you get is:

some sort of mixture of the outline and fill colors selected on the color bar,
as determined by the hue and stauration sliders,
all within the fill area of the original shape
[it doesn't affect the color of the outline of the original shape -that dosnt seem possible ]

EDIT - otherwise, with hue and saturation sliders inactive, line and fill color selected on the color bar do the same thing

also replacing named colors in a non-flat fill vector shape seems broken to me in xtreme 4 - still works fine in xtreme 2 as per xhris' tutorial

    Interesting Bob and Steve.

Bob, I think the way in which you create the circles probably determines which side the duplicates line up. If you drag one way the center of the circle is straight up. If you drag on an angle the center is not on top.

Steve - I'll go back and experiment with those settings.

I approach these things more from the right brain - i.e., they work or they don't work. Chris probably has a more definitive answer.
