did you export it as 'export animation' Tom ?
did you export it as 'export animation' Tom ?

Nothing lasts forever...
This is 'Crazy' (but, then I have lots of things close here) - I re-uploaded the file (editing the Post) - the gif (Ani-ALL) shows as a Paintshop Pro (so I guess that got set to Open GIFs when installing)... And, when I Open the File with Thunderbird, it IS animated...
Yet, here it is Not - Am I still doing wrong? Should I change the 'Opens with' to something Other than Paintshop Pro? If so, what?
Tom (non-animated)<sigh>

the file you posted up here is not a gif Tom - its a jpg - you may have posted up the wrong file... ?

Nothing lasts forever...
Thomas (the bad form of Tom) in Trouble again... I will attach some screen Pix of what is Happening (bad) in hopes of Finding Error...
I ReSave the Animation as 'AniGIF' so I could NOT mistake it for a JPG...
Note this file still shows as OPEN with Paintshop Pro... <seems part of Problem> I even tried to add the ending (.gif) and got a AniGIF.gif.gif; but did not catch that pix -BUT, it worked as an animation when Opened with Thunderbird! Further Note: Thumbs Pix - Thumbs see as a ".gif"
BUT, the Upload to the Forum shows/takes as a JPG ... <sigh>
Should I change to "Opens with Mozilla Firefox" to get Right?

Tom you need to save as a .gif 'type' not just name it .gif
I see from your screen shots that you must have 'Hide Extensions for known file types' ticked in Windows folder options. Untick this one and see exactly which extension your exports really are.
Besides all thies, you really must 'Export Animation' (not save as) - there should be no mixup then.
Forget about the associated program handler for that file type, it's red herring.
(thanks for the tip about the 'Hide Extentions')
Note NEW Screen Pix SHOWING both Files ARE Gifs... Yet Forum see JPG
I am NOT uploading the WRONG files... Both Files ARE gifs - Now What?

Are you saying that uploading a .gif appears it is being converted to a .jpg by the server?
I'll test this in a moment. That would be very odd..
Seems fine to me Tom ??
Can you email me your AniGIF.gif please?
sledger [at] gmail.com
Yes, Will email...
(is there a difference, here, between 'attach' & 'paste' (which I tried bout could not do)

Yes there is, attach actually works, paste does not
Got your email Tom - thanks.
OK, the reason you cannot upload your animated gif is that it exceeds the server limit for that file type (500KB as seen in the attachment manager)
The system creates a .jpg copy (this is new since the move to a new host - imagemagik must be installed correctly on the new server)
Your .gif is 1.39MB - far too large for here and probably too big for a website, (unlike flash which streams) your gif would have to download before it shows and then plays in the browser.
