Problem with “Cut & Paste” of images

I use PSP 7 to make “Texture Maps” that are used to texture 3 dimensional locomotive and freight car models. To do this I make multi layered images of individual components, and “copy and paste” them as new layers on the final image.

My problem is when I copy and paste the individual image, only the selected layer of the image is pasted. I find I must first convert it to another format, such as .bmp, in order to paste the entire image.

Is there a way to copy and paste the complete image without having to first convert it? Don't need to transfer layer data, just the complete image.

I'm not sure if the option existed in PSP 7 but see if you have under the Edit menu the option to Copy Merged (shortcut is Ctrl + Shift + C).

Hey that did it, thanks a lot That will not only save me a lot of trouble but will also eliminate a lot of unneeded image files.
