Post Passing Photo thumbnails to Serif WebPlus X2

I am a newbie with Webstyle and am using it for the first time today. I have produced a website using Serif's WebPlus X2 freehand (top down) but want to improve the graphics and general layout. A large proportion of the content is photographic and to that end I am trying to place a saved thumbnail with its HTML code for enlargement onto the design page in the X2 program. When I try to paste the HTML code I get the report that the picture is missing even though I have loaded the identified picture onto the page! Can anyone suggest where I may be going wrong or is Webstyle's Photo facility incompatible with the Serif program?
    I'm open for any suggestions. H E L P!

Welcome to TG Forums Plymouth Oldie,

I'm a bit confused about what you are asking.
Is it Serif WebPlus you need help with or Xara WebStyle?
These programes are of course produced by different software companies.
If you need help with WebStyle - you have the right place

Post Re: Passing Photo thumbnails to Serif WebPlus X2

Hi Sledger, Many thanks for the rapid reply, that's what I call service! When I try to paste the HTML into the WebPlus page, I receive the report that the photograph identified in the 'loc' part of the HTML code is missing even though I have loaded it into the page prior to the attempt to paste the code. I must agree that it is possibly a WebPlus problem but I thought perhaps someone in the Forum may have had the same experience and could give me the benefit of that experience to resolve the problem. I shall contact the techs at Serif to see whether they can give me an answer. Thanks again and apologies if I have asked the question in haste before thinking it through.

Can you paste the code here please? We can get a better idea of what might be the problem.
Out of context, I am unfamiliar with the html attribute 'loc'

    Hi Plymouth,

I believe you have put the image in the PagePlus page but the javascript code you are pasting into the code is looking for the file within the same folder as the webpage.

loc is the javascript variable that identifies the location for the image. Put the image into the folder the variable references or change the reference to the location where the image is located.

Sorry Steve I mistyped the program name. Seems all of Serif apps are something with the word Plus.

Good Morning Sledger - Thanks for those comments. I have attached the code as requested for you to examine. I need say no more abouth the formatting which is non existant. I'll leave it at that for now as I am about to contact Serif to see whether they have an answer to the problem.

    <img src="DOCKYARD2_thumb.jpg" editor="Webstyle4" moduleid="Thumbnail" border="0" width="180" height="120" alt="Click to enlarge" hspace="0" vspace="0"/></a>

Where are you locating DOCKYARD2_thumb.jpg ?

I don't mean in the document, I mean the actual file source location?

When you paste the code in, the program checks for the presence of the file it's referring to, if it doesn't exist in the expected directory that's when you will get the error.

Apologies once again. The source file used is the file location as selected by Webstyle during the save operation. In my case the full directory location used by the program is:-

    C:\Documents and Settings\Paul Laxton\My Documents\My Web Graphics\Photos\DOCKYARD2.jpg and DOCKYARD2_thumb.jpg

Both of these files are loaded as photographs into the WebPlus X2 page. That would appear to be the logical process but I may and possibly am, wrong. When importing the HTML code, that is the time I get the missing item report. However, additionally, if I use the Preview facility, it gives the enlarged area without the photograph being present so part works but the photo is still the elusive element. By the time I resolve this you will probably be suffering from nightmares!
    Thanks for all your efforts.
    Paul
