Painter X brush latency !

Whatever brush I'm using, the brushstroke will not appear instantly and will appear only about 3 - 4 seconds later.

I am running Painter 10.1 on OS 10.5.5. Photoshop has no such problems.

Is there any settings to be done ?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi welcome

couple of things to check first

brush tracking [edit>preferences>brush tracking]
% of memory usage allowed for painter [edit>preferences>memory and scratch]

Done that but didnlt help much.

Running under XP64 no problem at all.

This is often due to the size of the brush and high res images. Does it happen with all brushes/ resolutions.

Mystery solved.

Had to turned off Brush Ghosting.

What's that for anyway ?

It's supposed to help you see the angle of the brush etc... frankly everyone turns it off because it's a resource hog and you don't need it.
