3D attributes between text /objects ?

Does anyone know if it is possible to copy 3D attributes between text / objects ?

I've been producing labels, of a single letter, that all have the same 3D settings. But the only way I can achieve it is to create a line of letters then 3d it and then copy it across several sheets. The problem then is that I can't get back to the original line of text to add letters, so it would be useful to be able to drop 3D attributes between text /objects and be able to have single letters but all looking the same 3D style.

Simply copy the character you want,
switch of the 3d,
change the character,
turn the 3d on
the first settings are in place before you switched the 3d off
