Animate The Shine

Hi, Xara3D has some very useful animations, my problem is that to get a realistic shine effect across metallic lettering, you really need to animate the shine not the lettering. It's the shine of a light or a reflection on the lettering that's really supposed to be animated.

I've already worked out that I can export a still bitmap from Xara3D, and move the lights manually, export a bitmap.. move the lights a bit more and so on.. and then make an animated Gif.. and it works, but not very well.

So, does anyone know of a quick way of doing, what I think is a basic shiny metal effect?

Welcome to Talkgraphics.

In the Animation Options you can untick the Text and tick the Lights to have only the light animate.

Ah yes, thanks very much for that. It only works on Rotate to animate the lights only, but it's what I was after anyway.
