I never thought that strange plant would make such nice colors.

Xara line profiles to objects, saved to EPS, objects to strokes, Strokes to curves objects, PDF out to XXP, objects assembled in XXP and save to EPS, Objects to strokes and applied to bezier curves, PDF again to XXP. Added as required and colored with EC4000 in XXP.

I found a leaf and scanned it. Then did a Smart Mask separation from XXP, and colored it with EC 4000.

The environment in SBP. The leaf can be made bitmap transparent to apply effects.

The leaf, the leaf made self transparent, the leaf with EC4000 effect.

A leaf with a silver map.

The filled leaf with MFI effect. The silver leaf made bitmap transparent with the MFI leaf. The leaf again with a texture in BMT.

    A texturized leaf.

Like those colours - all of them.

rather partial to metal effects and the 'burnished' effect on the leaf is very 'rich'

I made a few tileable textures in Painter for XXP. Just apply a texture to a blank white image. The texture tile size is shown in the selection, and I make a new image that size to get a tileable texture. In XXP bitmap transparency, the white will make the working image full transparent. Black will retain the opacity. You may need to tone balance the texture to get the desired result. The effect is a transparency function and is scalable, and can be rotated plus a few other controls.
