tracing paper

Using painter X.1

When I quick clone or clone, I cannot toggle on/off tracing paper. Nor can I set the opacity of the tracing paper. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone provide a solution? Thanks in advance.

Select all and press the backspace key, then tracing paper becomes available.
