Painter X will not open

Hello All - My Painter X refuses to open. I tried uninstall and replacing it, shift key plus opening the program almost did it, and trying to restore it to an earlier, functioning, point on my computer. Any suggestions?

This happened to me too last year on my main desk top. I spent months on trying to resolve the problem. Corel support was quite useless. Then I hit on an idea. I have Painter X on my laptop where it functions normally and perfectly. I copied all the PX registry entries; removed any and all references to PX on my main desktop (using Windows Installer CleanUp [XP]); then entered all the copied entries from my laptop into my desktop's registry. Worked perfectly! gw

I finally got fed up and reinstalled VISTA - now painter 10 works for me
