    Is there a way of erasing part of a line as you would do in coreldraw or illustrator. currently i'm doing it in illustrator or flash.

    In line edit mode, add a point at the location you want the line to stop. Then break at the point. Select the bit you dont want with the select tool and delete it.
    To erase the middle bit of a line, add two points, beak at each and delte the middle.

    Yeah...thats what i've been doing. It works for simplier lines. I have ALOT of erasing to do, so Illustrator's erasing tool would work better.

    another way of removing sections of a line is to create a shape above the line were you want the line broken, select line and shape / arrange / combine shapes / slice. This method is often quicker than messing around with add / break /delete points if the cut is'nt required to be accurate

    Using Egg's method, you can group several lines at once, as illustrated.
