Default How many pixels in a selection

    Hi there,

Is it possible to see the number of pixels in a selection done by the freehand tool?
The problem is that the selection is not square, so you can't just calculate it...

    All help will be appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Hi Hallur - welcome

I am curious - why would you want to do this?

I'm doing a project in university. As a part of the program I'm designing I have to use some edge detecion techniques to discover particles in an image and also calculate the area of the particles discovered.

I got the program to calculate the area, but I'm not sure if it's doing it correctly, so I just wanted to verify it. Hoping that paint shop pro could help me with this...

If anyone knows a simple way to do this, using any image editing program, please let me know!

    Cheers!

the link David has supplied, post #4, is correct - you can use photoshop and the histogram palette will tell you [expanded view] - not sure if you can do it in PSP though......
