My primary camera is the 6.1 mp PENTAX *istDS dSLR with pretty good PENTAX SMC glass.
Takes fantastic shots
I also own a LUMIX DMC-LZ10 10MP bought mostly for the 720p 16:9 movie mode.
The photo quality is b* awful in anything but bright sunlight. Not recommended for photos.
A slightly disappointing poll, because it strengthens the totally wrong marketing hype about "Megapixels", which is almost the LEAST important figure about a digital cameraMore megapixels can even mean *worse* picture quality, as noise increases and you'll more often have problems with noise rather than too low resolution.
But anyway, I have a Nikon Coolpix CP8400 and an old Kodak DC290![]()
Yes you're right of course and this is common enough knowledge nowdays (more mp = more noise at low ISO and/or low lighting)
The poll is likely more about Xara devs needing to ascertain the average camera resolution (image size) in order to better cater for the importation and handling of images from the average digital camera in the next version of Xtreme rather than quality of the image (which is of course - subjective)
I'm surprise your 2.1MP DC290 still works. I had a DC215 then a DC280, both of which turned up their toes quite quickly. By todays standards they were very expensive too.
I've even got it used from eBay around 2004 (the camera is from 2000), and the previous owner already had taken several thousand photos with it
What I do recognize is that in general, the knobs and especially the silver "Dial" ring are pretty worn out, but still usable.
I'm also under the impression that the autofocus has problems. But well, on the other hand I'm very happy with the Nikon - and despite its 8MP resolution, the noise is still manageableLess than the DC290 actually.
I have digital camera's with the following resolutions;
1280X960: 1.3 Meg Canon D340
1600X2400: 4 Meg Toshiba PDR-4300
3008X2000: 6 Meg Pentax IST*DS
3104X4672: 14 Meg Pentax K20

Removed your image John. Let's keep the poll on topic and responses brief please.
A new thread with hints and help about camera settings and photography tips would however be appropriate.
I had a Concord EyeDuo @ 2.0 mp for years (hey, it came free with a LexMark printer, so I wasn't complainin')
Just recently purchased a Kodak EasyShare C340 @5.0 mp. One of those "left-overs" in the store so I got a great price, and it's good enough for what I need in a camera.
Huge difference in the quality of pics and I'm thrilled bout that![]()
