that's because its a bitmap effect over the underlying vector shape - you can test that quite happily by subtracting the text [or any other processed vector] from the box beneath it - it subtracts as vector shapes, not as bitmap - but like you say when you zoom in you see the bitmap pixelation
I was half right - they all work like that it would seem

raster effect it may be, but it is not a bitmap - it has no rectangular bounding box - it does boolean so it is cannot be a bitmap - that's all I am saying - and like Daniel says it remains editable - a hybrid of sorts - a fill with the edges showing ...

If I follow Daniels instructions as I read them, I indeed get a bitmap with rectangular bounding box.
This I did after resetting Xtreme registry settings to defaults. So I don't know. You tell me where I have gone wrong

not sure about the 'select entire drawing' Steve but think that's a side issue here
I don't get the box when I recreate - see screen shot - I have duplicated the text and given it an outline to clarify the point
as a matter of interest - if you just create a colored quickshape and set LE enhance bottom left -100 does that remain an unbounded quickshape?, it does for me....

ok - something silly has started to happen - I am getting a message that I cannot upload a screenshot because the maximum size allowed is 800 x 0
obviously I can't post a shot of this
anyone any ideas - is it TG FFox windows gremlins......

Yes that happens if it's ½ a pixel oversize (the whole pixel positioning thing in Xtreme if you used it?)
I normally make mine under 800pix recently.
I opened your file and I used your quickshape to recreate an enhance version - I did not get a locked bitmap, it stayed a quickshape
still can't post up
