save color pages in black and white?

I did not get a locked bitmap, it stayed a quickshape

OK - that was the clue.



Although my Xtreme reg settings are at factory defaults, I can't be certain if this setting is affected.
I had a tick in the checkbox. Removing it now allows Xtreme to leave the underlying vector editable and re render the effect should I resize it.

So obvious now
