info on brush please.

I have a flower petal on which I want to use a slightly darker edge. I assumed that I should use the brush to apply this additional color. Going through the movies, I haven't found instructions on how to accomplish this.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, especially is I am on the wrong road here.

use the shape editor tool to define the areas you wish to recolor as a shapes
fill these shapes with the new color, remove outline, and apply blur and/or transparency as required
