PDF1.6 is with transperency and layers support...

other theme is what exactly CMYK values you will have.... If your xar file is with defined in CMYK color system objects, they will go in same CMYK values in PDF.... but if your design is worked in RGB or HSV color system (in which is default Xtreme templates) then their colors will be converted to CMYK in depence of what CMYK icc profile you used in your CMYK setup in PDF options.... then it is possible you to have some big differencies in what you see in Xtreme and what you get in PDF
