Question How to do professional face retouching

The smooth tool & tan tools are pretty neat but how do the professionals retouch face pictures?

Yep, the clone tool. It really works.
This is one I did in PSP of my grandmother.

Good work on the photo, But im sure the editors of hello magazine etc dont use the clone tool

How is it done by professionals was my question.... once saw (but cant find now) a video on youtube with someone editing the actual features with pre set eye brows etc <---looked like this to start and ended up like this --->

why don't you ask them - you might be surprised

in my experience professionals use what works for the job in hand

retouching is one thing - making over another.....

Having seen some of the blatanly poor "retouches" in some of the style comics, I'd be inclined to say that they have been using the clone brush in PSP very badly. As they are however, "professionals" they are probably using Photoshop and its wider range of tools such as the healing brush, scratch remover et al, however some of the results look like the digital equivalent of Mr. PotatoHead. Possibly if you are retouching eyebrows, then a custom made brush might be the answer, but the results might look like Groucho Marx's painted-on moustache.
If you are using PSP, as in your original post, then the clone brush does the job pretty well, depending on a) your skill level, b) your patience and c) the time you are prepared to devote to the project.
    Saludos,
    Bob.
