how to create the heart shape in this snap

I would try to do it like this: First I would draw two paths, together forming a heart. Then I would apply strokes with a suitable brush. to achieve the outlines I select the heart with the magic wand and apply an outside stroke

draw it ? - use the pencil tools for the outlines say, and then bucket fill the black and the grey areas

may need to apply some overall blur to soften it...
