When I select a layer in xtreme pro4, the checkboxes become unuseable. I have to select a different layer, then check or uncheck the previous layer. Does this make sense?
Here's a brief video.
Thanks!

Yes, check them to Lock/Unlock and View/not View - Just highlight the current one. The current ones are greyed out because your options (Utilities>Options>General) have "Current layer always visible and editable" checked

Thanks for the reply!
Perhaps I'm not understanding your suggestion.
I checked the utilites/options and both boxes were checked as in pic, this is why I'm a little stumped.
When I highlight the layer, I can turn it off (eyeball icon) check box, but when I select the arrow check box, the computer beeps at me (warning sound etc)
Here's a screen capture of how it was during the problem.
have you tried it with the options>general tab 'current layer always visible and editable' unticked? - it should then work as you expect I would have thought - I think this is what Keith was suggesting...

Hi Steve,
Yes I have tried that, seems as if there was a problem of some sort after I did either the bug fix posted here earlier or from the CD vs the E version (Online download for upgrade from previous version)
If anyone noticed during that short vid, when I tried to select the layer, when the layer is highligted (blue color bar) you cannot select either the view or lock layer box. I incorrectly said earlier that it was only the arrow box, it's in fact both boxes...
that behaviour is exactly what you would expect if the 'current layer always visible and editable' box is ticked
after unticking it and clicking apply then ok try closing down xtreme and reloading the file
- if that does not work there may be a problem with your installation?

Steve and Keith,
You were both right
The mistake I was making was not hitting the APPLY button.....Doh!
It seems like backwards logic to me as far as having that button ticked or not. I'd think that if it's ticked, that means I can edit the layer if needed and it's visible, not the other way around.
Thanks again gentlemen for your very quick responses!
Have a great day
Mark
glad you got it sorted
in your video - whichever layer you select shows the visibility and ediability boxes in that layer ticked but then greyed out because you cannot switch them out - when 'current layer always visible and editable' is ticked they are permanently on until you switch layers - this is how that option is intended to work...
