    Default Re-creating Radiant Graphic

Using Xara Xtreme Pro, anyone know how to create the radiant background in this graphic?

    Hi Fuss,

    Welcome to TG

I'm sorry but your image my be in violation of copyright restrictions and was hotlinked to an external site besides (that site may not permit hotlinking to it's images either).

I think you are referring to a 'starburst' type effect.
Yes this is easy in Xtreme using the star shape and adjusting the the star with the shape editor tool to give it longer rays.
This can them be given a circular transparency to create a nice glowing starburst.

I'll post an example soon (though I'm sure other members will get to before I do - they're a fast lot here

    Hi Fuss,

A blend along a curve would be a good place to start. The attachment isn't exactly like the image you had linked but may give you an idea of how to accomplish the effect yourself.

Start with a narrow rectangle the convert to editable shape.

Narrow one end. Apply a flat bleach transparency. Duplicate the rectangle and create a blend.

Create a circle. Select the blend and the circle. Select the Blend tool and then click the blend along a curve icon on the infobar.

Adjust the size of the circle to where the rays (quadralaterals, former rectangles) are to your liking. Clone the blend and rotate it slightly so the rays overlap.

I added a feathered circle and diamond shape to the center just for effect.

Here is a variation using the same basic objects. The original rectangle was made wider.

OK - here's mine version - took about 20 minutes of fiddling to find a method.

If this is the sort of thing you seek, let me know and I'll write out the steps.

Yes! These are what I'm looking to do. I did play extensively with the shapes/star tool, but it seemed like it was inverted (not the same as in the graphic). I would love to get the steps! Thank you!

    Here you go.

Hopefully this will instruct you enough to follow the method I used.

I'm sure there's other ways, no doubt some will come along in due course.

But between Bill and myself, you at least have a start.

I've been a bit of a beam man but they have always lacked something.
With a few extra tips from Bill and Steve, this is my latest. Thanks guys.
