    Default First Xara Drawing

Hi all. This is my first completed drawing using Xara Extreme. I've been learning the program and reading tutorials for about a month. The Drawing is based on a rough sketch i did a few years ago. I had to rework just about every part of the drawing 2 or 3 times, and it's kind of a mix mash of different techniques, cause i was trying out different things in the application. Anyways, hope you like it.

    Hi Lightbender,

    Welcome to Talkgraphics.

Very nice image. I love green eyes.

I also like the comic style. Is she to be a character in some additional work you are planing? The flame background begs for a story line to accompany the image.

    Very Nice Lightbender!

You just happened to choose one of the hardest things to draw without it looking cartoonish. I have only seen a handfull of folks who can get a portrait to look like a person.

Personally, I think you did an awesome job considering the subject matter. Most folks start with something much much easier, like a pencil...

Darn it, that's what I should draw .... a pencil .... trouble is Dominique already did it, and made a fantastic job of it. I couldn't get it to look like that.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. Soquili, I might try to flesh her out as a character eventually. I think she was partially inspired from watching avatar on cartoon network with my son.
