    Nice shot Min...

I usually use xpro to resize for the web and that strips off the EXIF data. So I just copy and paste the data into the post. It makes it easier to get the data.

For example, here is your bee data...

    Make - NIKON CORPORATION
    Model - NIKON D80
Software - Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 Macintosh
    WhitePoint - 0.31
    ReferenceBlackWhite - 0

    FNumber - 3.80
    ExposureProgram - Manual control
    ISOSpeedRatings - 400

    Flash - Not fired
    FocalLength - 60 mm
    UserComment - (c)A.Hayler
    ExifImageWidth - 600
    ExifImageHeight - 428
SensingMethod - One-chip color area sensor
FileSource - DSC - Digital still camera
SceneType - A directly photographed image

    ExposureMode - Manual

Thanks John. I use a Firefox plug-in that reads the Exif data (FxiF) when I ctrl-click (I use a Mac).

    Hi Min,

I think John (as do I) like to see the poster (your) add the EXIF to the post along with the photo.
Many people are curious about camera settings because it helps them learn more about their own cameras & photography. So while we admire your photos, we like to see under the bonnet a bit too

By the way, Opera web browser for Windows, views EXIF natively without plugins.
Right click the image and any available EXIF is displayed in the properties box. Very useful

Thanks Steve I use a Mac but I'll check Opera and see if it views EXIF data in the same way as the Windows version.

Amanda, posting EXIF data is optional, it is not a requirement.

Of course it's optional Mike, as are tutorials in any other forum.
However in the spirit of any TG discussion, sharing ideas and learned techniques, the posting EXIF along with the featured photo is simply another way of sharing knowledge.

Min, Mike is correct and in no way should you feel obliged to post EXIF.
Like seeing wire-frame views of vector art, it's simply a polite request from interested members.

    Hi Amanda,

I use IRfanview on windows to grab my EXIF data. Have no idea if it is ported to the Mac.

Don't feel obligated to post the EXIF data, it just makes it lots easier on us photo types to see why a shot worked or didn't work.

OR if you are like me, and would like to improve your shots, it is easier for other phototypes to let you know where a quick change in settings would make a decent shot into an excellent shot.
