Thread: Home Sweet Home

    Default Home Sweet Home

Do you spend a lot of time at the computer?
    Is it your comfort zone?
Many of us do for sure. For some it's work and play while others simply prefer to keep the grey matter ticking over rather than veging out on the couch in front of the TV. Either way, it's easy to become quite 'at home' at the PC and soon allow sloppy habits to creep in.
Once every few days, I have a total clean up as I can't stand mess around me, I find it stressful.

Here's a photo I've had on one of my hard drives for years (you can tell from the old CRT's in the picture) - probably emailed to me by someone long ago.
How anyone could let their PC station become this untidy is beyond me

So - how about a picture of your 'cosy spot? Don't be shy, I'm sure your's looks much better than this.

Okay, Who emailed you this picture of my room?

No it is not, but now it looks kinda that way, and how do you do this?
Simple, don`t tidy up. I know it is hard, but if your really
set yourself to it, I am sure you can also achieve this.

Long ago someone once told me a saying...

"A cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind..."

    My immediate response was...

"then what is the sign of an empty desk?"

As long as it isn't a fire or health hazard who cares.

This may cause palpitations here but I don't actually own a camera - not even on my mobile - I suggested the idea to herself, who does, and she just looked at me........

EGG - its because the 'D' in the Smiley is upper-case - the forum does not seem to like upper-case smilies without some text, it defaults to lower-case, which doesn't work - I usually put a l in front to force it..

In my experience it means someone who is too high up the chain to do any actual donkey work [but mine is a messy trade..]

Here's my desk, and I have taken the opportunity to remove a trash can from the scene and replace it with my Les Paul guitar, makes the scene a whole lot nicer! The guitar is usually on a stand in the other corner of the room.
About the other stuff; on the left a Lexmark postscript colour laser printer. The computer is an Athlon 64 3400 with 1.5Gb RAM. Under the desk is a Samsung mono laser, good cheapy. To the right you can see a Wacom tablet, rarely used but keep trying! Also but not visible is a Canon LIDE scanner. On the far right you can just see a Stratocaster and Jazz Bass. I bought that Strat 24 years ago.

Pic's a bit blurry, took it with my phone.

kind offer Steve - in a way its a life choice, similar to adding up in the head rather than using a calculator...... there are photographers around and stock if I need them....

[still can't get any joy with herself - 'tidy it up first' - not really the point
I suppose if [and its a big if] I have the time I could draw it, as this is off-topic forum not photography]
