Problem rendering fonts (?)

Hi, maybe I can find a solution to my problem in this forum. I'm not an expert graphic, but it happens doing some small graphic for websites that I do program.



Please take a look between P and ER letters. Is all that space supposed to be there? I don't think so. It also happens for other letters, sometime T touches O, while other letters in the same word are more distant each other. I really don't know if it should be normal.

Font settings are: AvantGardeMdITC, 12px, Bold, Sharp AA, 0 cren, 0 others settings.

edit: forgot to mention, using Corel PSP Photo X2.

I don't have the same font to try But take a look at the far right of the fonts tool bar in edit text mode and try turning of auto kern if it on and adjusting the Kerning If Its no checked try checking it to see if it adjusts it. If you can not seei it click the arrow head that will extend the tool bar
