Default Feature request: Support for SVG filters

I know their effects could be redundant with some of the live effects, but they permit very fine tuning !

(example from Inkscape, effects modified with the internal XML editor)

Here is my first attempt at svg-gel effect in Inkscape.

As you can see, it's possible to obtain variable transparency and 100% opacity on the reflexive parts which is indispensable for a realistic gel effect !

The picture was made with XTreme where I imported png results and added the grid background and the drop shadows.

Steve, I tried to upload the svg file including the filter. It's weight is only 4,41 Ko. But unfortunately I get an "invalid file" reply.

    kindly,
    ivan

Thanks ! Here it is. It's better to open it in a 0.47 snapshot because 0.46 open and display it but crashes when trying to access the svg filters manager (however you could try via XML editor).

    kindly,
    ivan

It's a pleasure to draw graphics in XTreme, export them in svg, apply svg filters in Inkscape and import the png result in XTreme.

I noticed that the svg file displays better in 0.47 but faster in 0.46 with the same filters display settings. Perhaps because of some debugging code in 0.47 ?

However XML editor can change the filter settings in 0.46 without problems.

I am trying to find how I could create a gel-aqua effect but without succes at the moment. I am sure it's possible !

    kindly,
    ivan

Here again, an ameliorated svg jelly effect combined with some Xtreme transparencies and drop shadows.

The svg jelly effect is below.
