Need some help Please!

Hi I was looking into some of the older tutorials. One in particular from March of 2002. Titled " From Crackling to Cracked ". I have been able to reproduce everything except the transparency on the blend.

Can someone look at this and tell me what I am not doing right.

had a quick look at the tutorial, but no time to work through it

if you post your xar file at the point at which you were stuck it might help someone to determine what is wrong

there have been changes since 2002 to the way transparency works which may, or may not, be an issue

That's what I was thinking since no matter what I did I couldn't come close to the effect. That said I am still fairly new to Xara so it may be me. There may be some steps I need to do that I have missed.

which point in the tutorial are you at?

if you are applying a bleach transparency to the blend I would have expected the sphere to be there - without this the effect may not work?

I must have deleted it by mistake, but that shouldn't effect the blend at all. It says to select the blend and add the bleach trans and set slider to 95. What I get isn't even close to what they show in the tut.

Did you look in the other layers to see if it was there?

Some how I saved it as two different files......Weird!

Once I got to the cool part of the drawing and couldn't get it to work I just stopped. No point in going further.

go to utilities>option>general and untick 'make groups be transparent as a whole'

this will give you the effect but its not as dramatic as in the tutorial so something else is awry - your colors are not quite the same as in the tutorial I notice

if I get a chance I'll try it in xara x [pre xtreme]
