    Default Help.PDFs with transparent background

    Hi,
I use http://www.nitropdf.com to create and manipulate PDF files. It has the ability to add "stamps" to PDFs. One stamp I'm trying to create is a stamp with transparent background so I can stamp with my signature and have the underlying parts of the PDF come through between the ink lines of my signature. Currently, my signature appears as a rectangle with white background which covers the lines and other text on the PDF form. I'm trying to achieve a more natural looking signature stamp.

Nitro PDF describes a process for creating a stamp with transparent background http://www.nitropdf.com/kb/article.aspx?id=10070 but this requires Adobe Photoshop (which I don't have, which is why I'm using PSP) to save the resulting image as "Photoshop PDF".

I've played around with PSP, GIMP, and various vectoring programs to create a PDF stamp with transparent background. No avail. Unfortunately, NitroPDF won't take a GIF with transparent background and turn it into a stamp. It has to be a PDF with saved transparency.

    thanks.

You can not save as pdf you have to print a pdf. So the Vector route would be the way to go.

    Tony,

I think maybe this free set of tools could help, you will need to install "Sun Java Machine" and Ghostscript for it to work, just to let you know if you are interested. It is included in the PDFill PDF Editor package.

Thanks George, the transparent png option looks promising.
