How to create a table in xara xtreme?

Cheers everyone,

Any way to create easily a table with Xara Xtreme with desired number of columns and rows ? i am starting with a rectangle than adding horizontal and vertical lines and that is difficult when needing a large table and afterwards it becomes very difficult to align manually each text in each cell of the table

Draw 1 vertical line.
Clone it.
Ctrl right click and drag to desired width of table.
Blend between the two vertical lines, change number of steps as required.

Repeat above using one horizontal line.

Align both blends centrally. Group. You are done.

● After you have created the table with it's cells;

► Create a text box with some text in it (on a separate layer).
► Using the text box border and text as guidelines, position the text box within the table cell.
► Copy this text box and do the same positioning for each cell.
► Group all the text boxes together.
► Individually edit each box to adjust the [align], [font size] etc.

Thank you much for the table that was so easy.

But i tried to align the texts, i usually edit each row cell on the left margin and begin manually to cordinate the X and Y to align all texts on the same level horizontally and vertically and it's a huge work to do when having many rows.

Good information given here but also have a look at Gary's workbook at the Xone: http://www.xaraxone.com/webxealot/workbook56/page_1.htm

Although you can do it, I would still use DTP to create your table and then bring it in as PDF. There are many programmes out there that you can use Open Office and Serif's PagePlus and you can get them free so why pull your hair out trying to sort out tables in Xpro when it is so easy when you use the right tools.

I'm not too sure where you've gone wrong but a separate layer is not really necessary anyway, you can do without it as long as your table is not too complicated.

When you have the first blend, just clone and rotate 90 degrees - all aligned then

There's also xxfx from Lloyd (sculptex). This alows you to create tables for XX. You can d/l it here
