    Default Full moon part #3

I think I am getting close to having a really nice moon shot. After over 3000 attempts, I think this is as about as good as I am going to get with the tools I have. What do you guys think?

The first one is untouched, the second is with sharpening in XPro4.

Fabulous shot, John. Both versions look good. The Xara modified one has certainly brought out loads more detail.
    Saludos,

I think they're amazing images John, the Xara'd one would be difficult to improve on but the quality of the undoctored one is superb.

Thanks John and Bob. It took lots and lots of shots to be able to grab a shot like this. Not to mention about 45 minutes to set up and get everything set just right. It sure wasn't a "snapshot".

    Thanks for looking and commenting.

Could resist taking a harvest moon shot. Didn't have time to slap on my 1000mm lens, so I had to suffer with the 300mm. I like harvest moons. I just sharpened this one a bit. The top two are with 300DPI originals, this is with a 150DPI original.

    Thanks Keith and Norman!

I have found that the sharpening works much better when used on a larger bitmap. When one is displaying a huge shot on the net, some of the detail can be lost when the shot is reduced. Sharpening the picture brings back some of the detail without making it too obvious.

    Really great shots.
Moon photography is not easy. What lense (or telescope) did you use John.
