Error importing EPS files

I am trying the trial version of Xtreme 4.0 and had good success with it last week. This week I can't seem to open or import any EPS files - under any eps format. I keep getting a the message "Error detected in EPS file at line XXX(X)", PhotoShop EPS files are not supported, or the file will import but nothing will be there.

Should I be having this much trouble with EPS files?

Welcome to Talkgraphics.

Errors importing EPS files are fairly common. One reason is there are so many variations of EPS even from the same software vendor.

If you are exporting the EPS files I would suggest exporting to PDF if the software supports that format.

If you are downloading the EPS files you can try converting them using Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw if you have one of those programs.

I have tried using the GIMP to convert the files but the vectors are converted to raster when exporting from that program.

The last time I heard of Col. Mustard he was holding a candlestick in the Library.

If the file is not huge, perhaps you can post it here and one of us can see if we can open it and convert it for you.

Several of the members have Illustrator CS3 which should do the trick.
