Corel PSP photo X2 hangs on startup

I recently installed the boxed version of corel psp photo x2 plus the update. On starting, the application hangs after it appears most modules have loaded.
I get an error message:
Event 1000
Application error Faulting application corel paint shop pro photo exe version 12.0.1.0
faulting module unknown version oooo fault address 0x0000b7a4
My specs are:
XP pro SP2
3gtz CPU
1GB ram
180 GB HD 60%free space
Any ideas?

Did google search for "faulting module unknown version" and found many different causes and suggestions. Appears to be related to something in XP called DEP (Data Execution Prevention). Microsoft has the following http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875351

Where did you get the software from? Maybe the install file is corrupt or something.

Try the google search and see if there is something that will help.
