    Default Text within objects

Is it possible to place editable text within an object and have the text change as the object's shape is changed? I haven't been able to find anything in help so suspect it isn't. Thanks

You can do this with a stretchy text area as demonstrated in this month's Xara Xone Workbook.

At first glance, I'd say "No". To make the shape and text alter it, means either converting text to shapes, or putting it in in a mould, in both cases the text is now converted and uneditable...
of course, someone will come along and prove me wrong, I've no doubt. Edit: See, I told you! That'll learn me not to read the current work book!

Bob it is just like being in school. You need to keep up with the workbook to pass the quizz.

I would just apply a soft group if it wasn't for the web.

Yes, I would apply a group. Whether soft or not would depend on whether the object and the text were on different layers or not.
To edit text in a group to which a mould has been applied, just copy the mould shape, remove the mould temporarily, edit the text and paste the mould envelope back.

Why so? The questioner asked how to get the text size to change when an object changes, not how to get an object to change to accommodate text changes, as is the case with a stretchy text area.

It depends on which object is selected to affect the other.

Of course if the text is the object any stretching will force export as an image rather than text.
