    Well your image is rectangular, I thought starting with a square image made more sense.
    Rather than intersect with a square shape or clip/crop, I generally just hold the minus key on the numpad and drag the handles. This resizes the rectangle without squashing the image.

    Are you using whole pixel sizes? Also remember that the new HQ view mode adds more anti-aliasing to edges.

    Great idea Anas, it makes great seamless tiles.

    I would suggest not using [Repeated inverted] rather use [Repeating file] and try to have all images facing same way.
