Trouble getting 3rd party plugins into X4

I am used to working with plugins in PS and PSP with no problem, but I have tried everything I know, plus what the help area says to get Xara to recognize 3rd party plugins. Any advice on what I may be doing wrong?

Khanes some PS and PSP plug-ins will not work with Xtreme.

What plug-ins are your trying to use and how are you trying to get them into Xtreme?

Only the older Photoshop plug-ins with the .8bf file extension will work. If a plug-in requires a pixel selection it will not work in Xtreme.

Tip (works fine where appropriate):

Set PSP or PS as your bitmap editor in Xtreme options.
Create a bitmap copy of the object you want to apply the non-xtreme-compatible plugin then double-click the copy to start the bitmap editor.
Apply the plugin effect, save and close the bitmap editor.
