    Default Synthetic font effects

Is there a simple way to create synthetic italic & bold text for fonts that only exist as normal (Roman) styles? In particular, I'm looking to italicize Olive Oil and bold Monotype Corsiva.

Probably a well worn topic, but I couldn't find it via a search.

Yes. Italicise:Type your text, select it, click on the selection to change the bounding box and you
can use the horizontal arrows to slant/skew either forwards or backwards.
Yes. Embolden:Type your text and select it, and make the adjustment using the contour tool.
Both work fine for a line of text.

    Bob.
