further - xtreme 2 imports the the jpg at 601 dpi/ppi- whereas xtreme pro 4 imports it at 96
if I import the jpg into xtreme 4, 'shrink it ' down to 600dpi and export as png, no memory crash
looks like it is a 'size issue of some sort... - like xtreme 2 is working within a 'toolbar pix size limit' of 3175 pix

Is it not a video card problem that causes the crash? That to me is why some can and others can't it is asking a lot for the integrated card to render.
Design is thinking made visual.

I actually used Autostitch.Could have easily been stitched by Xtreme or Panorama Studio. The EXIF only shows that some editing and saving was done using PICASA.
