I like the effect you've used to create the sea, Rupert.
It seems as though the inhabitants of the planet have converted to Christianity.
Might be worth NASA's while to send up a probe.

Try using a linear transparency to fade the landmass into the water and/or perhaps remove the outline from the land, particularly on the right of the image; depends on if you are aiming for that extra bit of realism.
The colours are very nice and the overall effect is good or you could try inverting the colours for that extra alien effect.
