    Thumbs up Re: hosting

    Hi Guys,

I think I am a little late for this discussion but it might help someone in the future. I have been using a hosting company called www.firstgreenshoot.com, so far its been very reliable and I am happy with the service and costs.

Yeah! I use Godaddy too. Never had any problems. Great/fast tech 24/7 tech support. I am a Godaddy Resller...so, if anyone wants to get Godaddy hosting or domains at the wholesale price just email me and you can get it through my reseller site Dotdancer.com. I can email you a code that lowers the price to wholesale...it is a lot cheaper than buying directly from Godaddy... I did not sign up to make money from the domain or hosting sales - but just wanted to be able to offer domains and hosting to my website customers. Just mention this forum or Xara and I will hook you up. bob@dotdancer .com

The host may also provide an interface or control panel for managing the Web server and installing scripts as well as other services like e-mail. Some hosts specialize in certain software or services (e.g. e-commerce). They are commonly used by larger companies to outsource network infrastructure to a hosting company.

I am using the same provider as Magnatude, ix Webhosting. The prices are good and they offer different packages for private and business users. I am also happy with them, the customer support is good and I can't remember any serious server downtime. I can say that it's a reliable hosting service and if you're not having really big requirements, you'll probably be happy with them.

An English web designer first put me on to Hurricane Electric, (he.net), in 1996. They are based in California, are very reliable and answer the phone straight away. I also use Godaddy, and have found them to be about as good as Hurricane.
