    Angelize,

You inspired me... I just had to have my own wooden picture frames.

I downloaded the demo version of Alien Skin Eye Candy 5:Textures and had a go at it. After several false starts and about an hour of fiddling around here's the results using the wood and brick wall plug-ins.

    This is just too cool!

For note card designs, I enjoy transforming my photos to a different level. I find filters and plug-ins help to satisfy a creative need as exciting new textures, patterns and colors emerge from a sometimes rather ordinary photo.

I haven't visited this thread in a while, and there have been some great additions. This is my take on the gemstone that Frances posted ( knockout
by the way) and the quest for realistic velvet from the thread by salaam.
My velvet effect was achieved by adding the art filter painting effect to an
ellipse with a fractal plasma fill. For the gemstone I used polygonal quickshape with a bevel, which was then extruded. The result is the small graphic on the left. I then ran this through the eye candy glass filter.
Why I should then decide to painstakingly hand trace the result I do not know, but the vector result is on the right.
    Saludos,
    Bob.
