Revised my 1st .ai file in Xara. Before in ai if I wanted to save the file as a pdf and keep editing properties available there was a box on the save portion to check for this. Can I do this with Xara saving as a pdf?

Not sure if I understand your question but I think the answer is yes.
A PDF file created in Xtreme should be editable in Illustrator. There is no option as there is in Illustrator however.

Let me try and clarify. When I have an .ai file open and do a save as then choose .pdf the 1st save screen shows up and has options.

The preserve editing capability is checked. This is what I was looking for in Xara.

AFAIK, Xtreme pdfs are always editable unless you include Security settings in the export.
