    That depends on where you lived then. In the Los Angles, CA area there were 8 channels. For a while I couldn't figure out why my then 3 yr. old daughter could recognize the numbers 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 28, then I realized they were the TV channels.

    P.S. Where I live now, we only have NBC, Fox and OPB (PBS) and only OPB comes in good. so we're satellite dependent.
