Where are you draging from?

From any .jpg in Windows Explorer on my C: drive.

Mouse pointer changes to a circle with slanted line indicating that you can't drop there. In fact, can't drag and drop from Win Explorer into Xara at all.

Must be doing something really stupid but not seeing it...

Steven have you rebooted your computer recently?

I've installed XXP4 on my Vista machine with SP1 and still cannot duplicate the problem you are having. I usually install a new service pack on one computer at a time so I can compare how well things are actually working.

I do recall getting the circle with slanted line when trying to drag and drop into Xtreme sometime in the past but I think a reboot corrected the problem.

I shoulda known, as that's my standard answer when people have problems. Guess I thought Xara was immune. :-)
