Default copy & paste from X3D to Xtreme

    Hi Guys,

Have been using Xara 3D for sometime now, would like to start using Xara Xtreme, according to the Xara Website information you can copy & paste your shapes from Xtreme to 3D, and then back again to Xtreme. I have installed the Download version of Xtreme and can achieve pasting a copy into 3D, but cannot get the image back to Xtreme for some reason. Anyone have any ideas why It won't work for me?

Hope I'm posting in the right place, it's my first time here.

    Thanks in advance - George

    Hi welcome to TG

Actually I don't think you can cut and paste from xara3D to xtreme as a shape - when I have done this it has always given me a bitmap

Have you the xara site reference to hand?

Simply select all and copy (X3D) then paste into XPro.

It's a bitmap, but does not carry over a background with it. The original post didn't mention wanting a vector paste.

When you copy from Xara3D to paste into Xtreme, the image is copied as a png with alpha.

I thought it was a bitmap because when I looked at the document properties in XPro it said one bitmap.

Bob the term bitmap is the generic for any raster image.

A gif, jpg, tif, png, pcx, pct, and bmp are all bitmap file types, and there are many others.

Thanks, Bill. I never knew that. I had thought only bmp were bitmaps. Another day another thing learned, and from the master of helping people. Thank you, again.

    Yes that's what I thought

The OP talks about copying shapes from Xtreme to Xara3d and then back again to Xtreme - this can't be done then - I think it's a misunderstanding.
