Just an idea I had once, many moons ago Didn't realise how close the original was to NASA's. Minimalist version is a very effective logo though isn't it?

John, if your last attachment had a rounded bevel, it would do the trick.
Saludos,

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. Groucho Marx.
You're right

This one was done using the Chrome filter in XPE
I can imagine Captain Picard's manly chest underneath the uniform...
er...that is... anyway, Jimi, a very good piece of work!

Thanks Bob. I clearly need to get out more as I was just sitting at dinner thinking "how can I tweak that a bit?".
So here it is with a reflection of the bridge in the chrome front bit, in the style of Gary's "Touch of Glass" (well sort of).
Don't think I quite got that right, but I've attached the file so if anybody else wants to have a play...
I think you have improved it a lot.
I pulled the bridge reflection down a tad and increased
the feathering to 20pix.
I imagine that if the metal had a convex shape it might
reflect like this. But I could be wrong, I often am.

Bob.

Yep, that's better.
Although I think in hindsight it's more believable without the reflection, but with the white/grey fade that I put underneath the bridge picture.
I also made the gold a bit more "gold like".
Now I really should call it a day. Good fun though.
Just having fun
I never really got into Star Trek, but, I thought I'd give the logo a try anyway. While not as fancy as JK's, I don't think it turned out too bad for a XXP4 beginner. I seem to be spending a lot of time learning how NOT to do everything but that's all right since XXP is one of the most fun programs I've used in a while.
Here's my attempt(s)...
