    Hi handrawn,

Yes, I am enjoying The PainterFactory along with all the other forums I visit daily. It's picking up new members every day and there's a lot of nice art to see as well as other threads to read.

It will take a while for a large membership to deveop, but it feels good so far.

Stop by often to see what's happening.

    Cheers!

jinny, you are right, it is corel essentials and not corel painter, but it is essentials 5, i just bought it two days ago, and installed it, it is #5, not 3 like you have said.

Checking the Corel.com site and then my suppliers listings, Corel Painter Essentials 4 Win/Mac CD appears to be the latest 'Essentials' version available.

That's very strange, dleif. I worked on the Corel Painter Essentials 4 Beta team and haven't heard anything about a Corel Painter Essentials 5 Beta team.

On the Corel site, Painter Essentials 4 is the only version currently being sold:

    Corel Painter Essentials 4

Just did a search for Essentials 5 at the Essentials Cafe and that produced quite a few pages of posts. Obviously the search was able to make use of the words "Painter Essentials" and not the number 5 as checking through several pages of links to posts containing those two words, back to January of this year, produced nothing that said Painter Essentials 5, but lots containing Painter Essentials 4 and Painter Essentials 3.

I'm curious to know the answers to a few questions:

Is your Painter Essentials the English version?

If you're a Windows user, have you done the following?
    • Highlighted the Painter Essentials(whatever number).exe file,
    • Right-clicked and chosen Properties,
    • Clicked the Version tab, and in the lower left panel, clicked Product Version,
    • Then read the complete version number in the lower right panel?

Also, where did you purchase your Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet with the bundled software? (In what country, or what country location Wacom site?)

Thanks in advance for helping to solve this mystery.

    Thanks, dleif.

It does help a lot to know what version you're using when it comes time to ask questions. So now you know.
