Corny Old Joke
Following on from Bill Taylor's mini tutorial in the "Using a xara drawing as "Bitmap" fill"
thread, I was reminded of this ancient joke, whereby a builder's
apprentice would be sent to the ironmongery (hardware store)
to buy some sky hooks and a can of chequered paint.

as that, which was used by, I think,
Morecombe and Wise, the comedy duo
which was about the BBC tv's notorious
stinginess when it came to paying their
artistes. (small cheques).
Not true these days.
A certain chat show host in the UK is
deemd to be worth $12,000,000.

If I were a BBC license payer I'd be furious.

In the Army we used to tell nubies that they needed to replace the summer air in their tires for winter air and laughed from a distance as we watched them deflate all of their tires and refill them. Most of these trucks had 10 tires!
Our other famous one was to send nubies to the parts department for spark plugs for diesel engines....
